I have a Lauson Model RLA serial #7225. Looks like a washing machine engine, has the foot starter, single cylinder and horizontal shaft.

I was told it was used to run a generator in the 1930's. Can anyone tell me if this is the correct age for the engine? I seem to find very little information for Lauson on the internet.

The engine is complet and turns over but I have never tried to start it.

Thanks for any help you may provide.
