You need a coil with an internal resistor. Any one will work. The points on the K-series Kohler stay open half the time the engine is running. The points close at the begining of the intake stroke and stay closed until they open to create the spark to run the engine and then stay open through the power and exhaust stroke closing again at the begining of the intake stroke.
