This is a Tecumseh engine. Is it the all cast iron model? Is it burning this much oil, or leaking it? Badly worn rings &/or valve guides would cause burning. Bad crankshaft seals would cause leakage. Make sure the crankcase breather is functioning properly. If not, an engine (especially a large one like yours) can build up pressure in the case which will force oil past seals, rings, etc.
These parts should be available at most well stocked small engine dealers.
