This is a relatively new design of engines made for the homeowner equipment. Their bragging point is low dollars and high horsepower. There was a change on the valve adjusters, the early set up had the adjuster on the end of the rocker arm, the current has the adjuster in the center. This suggests that Kohler had a problem. Kohler recommends checking the valve adjustment every 300 hours, set at .005" I am not a big fan of these engines.
