I have a 1940 Wisconsin VF4 built in 1940. It is coupled to a Fairbanks Morse 10 KW generator ands runs at 1800 RPM. It has not run for 10 plus years. When I put it up, I ran it dry of gas and lubed the cylinders. I had a hard time getting it to run but did get it going. I ran it for about 1 hour and it started missing a little, so I shut it down to check and teighten spark plug wire contacts as one was a little loose. I could not get it started again. it tries to fire but back fires throught the carb. I have had so much trouble with the new gas in Maine which is 10% ethanol. I added Stabil Marine with the additive to help with ethanol to the gas before I ran the engine.
Any thoughts? Thank you Scott Young
