Hi All I have an old Wisconsin single cyl S-8 D,serial #4422746 with a bore and stroke of 3.125 X 2.62 on a homemade log splitter. I am haveing issues with the govenor. It starts on 1 or 2 pulls of the rope and usually it runs pretty smoth when first started. Bur After a while it usually starts to hunt and surge and it may do this all day or it might come out of it for awhile then go back to surging again. I think someone has tried to adjust this before but cant be certain. Can someone tell me in detail as how to adjust the govenor properly. I suppose it could be something as simple as haveing the connecting wire in the wrong hole. Before I start to mess with it i thought it would be a good idea to ask the people that know. Thanks
