Looks like it was built in March 1947.If you are going to be doing any service work on this or any other old Briggs engines you should pick up BRIGGS & STRATTON SERVICE MANUAL FOR OUT OF PRODUCTION ENGINES 1919-1981. It is available through Briggs or on EBAY.
