The Maytag 92 was restored May - July of 2000. This engine was an easy
restoration requiring only a few ignition parts and a good paint job.
It starts on the second kick every time!
This Maytag 72 was a basket case. I only wish I had taken a before photo.
Someone had tried to fix it before but had one piston in upside down and a
few extra parts floating around in the crankcase.
The Briggs 5S so far has been my favorite restoration. Nearly all the parts
were there and it started on the second pull after I was finished. It runs
perfect and if I say so myself, looks pretty good also.
The Iron Horse was an engine given to me by one of my students. Thank you to
the members of the A.S.E.C.C. for information on this model.
The Briggs 6BHS is also one of my favorites. Being one of the first aluminum
block Briggs's it helps to complement my collection.
The Briggs Model "Y" was the engine that started my "bug." It was a 4H project
of mine that earned me Grand Champion at my county fair. It needs a little
cleaning up but I'm sure it would start with just a few kicks.
The Briggs WMB is my next restoration project. I picked this one up with the
water pump at a garage sale for $5. Another person's junk is another's
treasure.
The Briggs 9FB with a Katolight generator was another garage sale find.
I checked the oil, added a little gas, and it started on the 3rd pull.
