Hummer engine, which I believe was sold by Montgomery Ward, with a 6 volt
battery charger attached. This engine does not use a magneto as most of
the Hummers i have seen do. This engine uses battery ignition with an
ignition coil and points located in the generator. The battery must be
connected for starting but may be removed later as the ignition will be
supplied by the generator. The pulley on the right is for operating some
other type of equipment if desired.
Marine generator, manufactured by U.S. Motors corp. Water cooled engine
based on the Briggs & Stratton Model Z. The cylinder and head have ZW
cast in them. The generator is 24 volts D.C. and is electric start.
Fuel was taken from the boats tank by a fuel pump on the back of the
engine. This is a battery charger that was used to operate the boats
electrical system without running the main engine.

Winco Power Plant. Uses Maytag Model 72 engine. Built October 1947.

Here are some pictures of an E2 engine I got in a lot of 23 engines I bought.
I believe this is a Hummer engine sold by Montgomery Wards. I am not sure if the
generator is original. I am looking for information on this engine. What is it
used for? How many volts does it put out? How old is it? Who built it? This will
be restored this winter and any help would be appreciated.
