Hi Howard;
If it's a 226, it has a 4 horse Briggs. It should take 20 fluid ounces of oil. Some guys dump in the whole quart and it foams and blows out of the breather. Some have a dipstick, some did not. If there's no dipstick, the pinky finger method works well. Keep an eye on your belts with a Bird. If you have any questions, please feel free to email me.
